Happy April everyone, we hope you are all doing well, staying healthy, and enjoying the beautiful sunny weather we have been getting lately!

There is nothing that we love more than going outdoors and enjoying all that the North Shore has to offer, especially West Vancouver, which in this month’s blog we are going to highlight the hidden gems of the area!

Whether it is going for a walk, bike ride, or just enjoying the fresh air, you HAVE to check out these spots!

Sunset Platform in Horseshoe Bay

One of the area’s best-kept secrets, the Horseshoe Bay lookout platform is a gorgeous spot to enjoy the sunset and the breathtaking scenery.

The platform is hidden above Horseshoe Bay alongside the old highway, and in order to get there, you need to park in the second parking lot (along the highway), then walk north towards the platform, which is situated between the second and third lot!

Make sure you have your hiking boots on as you will need to go over the barrier and go up a small hill to find the platform. When you go, make sure to take a photo and tag us in it on Instagram!

Lighthouse Park

Perched right below the Cypress Park residential community, Lighthouse Park is a great place to bring the dog for a walk and take in gorgeous water views, but did you know that there is a secret bunker?!

The park is a great place to hike forest trails, explore the fully functioning lighthouse (pre-covid) and see some amazing birds like diving cormorants and soaring eagles!

Baden-Powell Trail

What a great way to enjoy the nice weather! Baden Powell Trail is a beautiful hiking trail that spans from the head of the Burrard Inlet in Deep Cove to Horseshoe Bay here in West Vancouver!

The West Vancouver part starts at Cleveland Dam and is a hike that is full of relics which tells you the story of the North Shore’s logging past!

Stearman Beach (Secret Beach)

This beach is a great find to get your tan on, watch the harbour ships and relax under that warm sun; tucked in behind some waterfront properties, the sandy beach is smaller but has tidal pools and streams that run down to the beach, and there are lots of logs for you and your family (both two-legged and four-legged) to discover!

Just south of Marine Drive at Stearman Avenue, you can park on Ross Crescent (where available) and walk down the trail that is located on the east side of the crescent.

West Vancouver is such a great place to lay some roots, enjoy nature and live the “west-coast” lifestyle as there are so many hidden gems to check out, and it is close to everything you could ever ask for in terms of outdoor recreation.

WEST VANCOUVER EVENTS

There is a very exciting challenge that runs from Sunday, April 18 to Saturday, April 24; it is the MAYOR’S COMMUNITY CLEANUP CHALLENGE, an initiative to get the entire community involved to help clean up West Vancouver!

With Earth Day on April 22, this ties in nicely, and helps keep the district clean. Participants will be presented with an official certificate with the weight of litter they collected so you can document your contribution!
To register your team, click here!

We have been very fortunate to raise our family here and be a part of this great community which is why the district is such an amazing place to live, and right now, there is lots to choose from in terms of real estate!

We hope you enjoyed this month’s blog and encourage you to check out these hidden gems as they are a great way to enjoy the sun!

If you are looking to move or know someone who is, get in touch with us as your referrals are our BIGGEST compliment!

As well, we currently have a LISTING INCENTIVE, so make sure you ask about that when you call!

Have a great April, and we will chat in May!
