We have all heard the term “laying down some roots,” and when you think of the North Shore, two communities always come up, Gleneagles and Horseshoe Bay. The areas are excellent options, especially for active lifestyles such as hiking, biking, or boating, as there are many great options such as Whyte Lake or Sewells off the Howe Sound Shores.

You have probably seen us walking around with our dog Bella, a lab Shepherd mix that always likes attention and gets super happy whenever she sees new people or other dogs.

These areas are “home” to us, and we could not imagine living anywhere else given the roots that we have laid here.

When it comes to real estate, like most areas saw last year, it proved to be a scary and frustrating year for all of us due to COVID, from the lockdowns, to kid’s homeschooling, changing your work environment, risking your health while working out of the home, and an overall shift of our social interactions.

In terms of real estate, the supply of homes for sale will be a critical factor in determining home price trends. Traditionally spring is the best time to market your home, today we still have a shortage of inventory on the market, and it seems, although this year is different from our past as we know it, spring will still be a hot time to Buy and Sell.

GLENEAGLES & HORSESHOE BAY – BY THE NUMBERS
Here are some of the 2020 Detached House Sales numbers in the Gleneagles/Horseshoe Bay neighborhoods.

Despite COVID-19, “the Lower Mainland residential real estate market has been resilient,” said B.C. Assessment deputy assessor Bryan Murao. “For the most part, homeowners can expect relatively moderate increases in value. This incredible strength is a stark contrast to last spring when the market came to a temporary standstill whereas the remainder of the year had a very steady and rapid recovery.”

SUPPORTING LOCAL BUSINESSES
We have been supporting local businesses as much as possible because they add so much character to our communities, and without them, the community experience wouldn’t be as special.

Olive and Anchor is one of our favorite restaurants to eat. Owner’s Rick and Lisa live in the Bay, and their son and daughter go to Gleneagles with our daughter. They cater to all ages and have a great kids menu. S

o because we want to support them, here is a deal for you!!

For the month of February, have a dessert on us!!

When you purchase a meal AND present this coupon, Whittall Real Estate will buy you a dessert!

Keep your eyes peeled to your mail in the coming weeks as we will be handing out flyers to the residents of Gleneagles and Horseshoe Bay!

We are excited to show you why we love this area so much and why these areas have become some of the most sought after to live in the lower mainland.

We hope you remain calm and kind and healthy in the coming year ahead, and we can’t wait to hear from you! Remember… your referral is our biggest compliment!
