We hope you and yours are staying safe and enjoying holiday cheer with friends and family (virtually, of course).
With our final blog of 2020, we thought it would be fun to share some things that you may not know about us and reflect on the success of 2020!
So without further ado, here we go!
- We Are Super Parents
Between us, we have 4 children, where most who do know us are familiar with Kim’s kids, Matt Babiuk (thirteen years old), also known as “Little Matt” who attends Rockridge Secondary School and Jessica Babiuk (eleven years old), who goes to Gleneagles Elementary School.
We also have, on Sean’s side, Matt Whittall, also known as “Big Matt,” who is twenty-three years old, lives on the Sunshine Coast, and runs a fishing boat! Taylor Whittall is twenty-one years old and is studying to become a teacher.
We also have a fifth “love child,” Bella the rescue Shepherd Lab Mix who fills our home with happiness and joy.
- What Made Us Choose Real Estate
Previously we both were Business Development Managers for a Supply Company in the hospitality industry, and we both came to a point in our lives that we felt it was time to work for ourselves. Our dedication and ambitiousness have always been something that has led to our success, and we loved working together, so we said hey, this is a great time for a new beginning, and sure enough, it brought us here!
- One Thing You May Not Know About Sean and Kim
We knew we would never regret matching tattoos on our shoulders, and they have a special meaning to both of us, and no, they were not done on an all-inclusive beach somewhere warm; we got them done here on the North Shore!
- Causes We Support
Sean was diagnosed with type-1 diabetes at the age of thirteen, and we have supported the Canadian Diabetes Association for a while, a charity that puts forth an incredible effort to help those with diabetes.
And did you know that they will come to your house to pick up any gently used clothing? Perfect if you have some clothes you’re looking to donate. They also accept cash donations. To donate, visit www.diabetes.ca/donate.
Another cause we support is the West Vancouver SPCA, as it is near and dear to our hearts, and we adopted our kitty Soda there.
We love to be involved with local charities and volunteer our time with local events because it is local that gives us our community identity, and we would not be anything without them!
- Our Favorite Restaurant
This was a tough one as we LOVE dining out, and we are so fortunate that Vancouver has so many amazing options! But we would have to say our all-time favorite has to be the Beach House Restaurant in Dundarave. Not only did we get married here, but it also has hands down THE best patio on the ocean in Vancouver. We are lucky it is only a stone’s throw away.
- Our Favorite Activity
Boating! We both have a love of the ocean, so you will find us out in the Howe Sound often, up the coast or across the Georgia Straight into the Gulf Islands and San Juan Islands as often as we are able to in the summer months. We love to fish and crab as well!
7. Accomplishments For 2020
Our goal this year was to meet new people. We love our circle of friends, and we thought it would be great to expand that group. Unfortunately, COVID-19 put a big damper on that goal; however, we are fortunate enough that we were able to continue to work throughout 2020 and very lucky to meet some amazing clients through this time.
- Looking Ahead
We value every sale for its uniqueness and recognize the importance we play with each transaction. We are truly grateful for all we have and look forward to 2021, crossing our fingers for some sort of normalcy and a successful year personally and professionally.

Looking back at the year, there were a lot of perspectives. Taking time to reflect and appreciate what you have, cherish those around you, and to remind ourselves of how fortunate we are.
