December 2018 Edition
The holidays are upon us and, instead of our usual news, we thought we’d highlight a few of our favourite December places—just a handful of the reasons we love living on the North Shore.
In the 1920s, decades prior to the construction of the Lions Gate Bridge, skiers had to take a boat from downtown Vancouver to the North Shore, and then hike up to the ridge to ski. Skiing enthusiasts built the Hollyburn Lodge in 1926, where it still stands today. Now, the trip is easy and the destination couldn’t be more inviting. After the school day is done, particularly on Fridays, we gather our kids and head up the hill to Cypress for a perfect family evening. Friday nights are their Family Fun Night, complete with s’mores, family pizza, and more.
Then there’s the fun of outdoor skating—whether we’re heading up to Grouse
Mountain and the only mountain-top skating rink in the Lower Mainland, or down to Robson Square, offering free, traditional fun in downtown—we’re never more than 25 minutes away from a great time. Especially if our friends Ginger and Snap are performing on Grouse that day!
And on Saturday mornings we take a break from the hustle and bustle of the season. Meeting up with the West Van Run at Cafe Artigiano at Park Royal and going for a run around beautiful West Vancouver. It’s free, fun and open to everyone.
Wishing a very happy holiday to the wonderful people in our lives who are receiving this email, and all the very best for 2019. Here’s to hoping we see you on Cypress, Grouse, Robson Square or out for a run.
Warm wishes from Whittall Real Estate Team!

“Rarely do you come across such charismatic people that exude such professionalism and business savvy.
They have gone above and beyond for me in every aspect and I am positive they will continue to raise the bar with each of their future clients. A true power couple that delivers optimism, drive and results; an easy choice.”

DECEMBER MARKET STATS
November was the fifth month in a row of what is considered a balanced market, with the sales to active listings ratio around 13% across Metro Vancouver. Buyer demand remained below typical 10-year average levels for this time of year, putting continued downward pressure on pricing, particularly single-family detached homes.
